Teen Summitt
The annual First Tee-Greater Washington, D.C. Teen Summit is an empowering and informative leadership event designed for young individuals eager to enhance their skills and prepare for a successful future. This summit is tailored to address crucial aspects of personal and professional development, with a particular focus on finance, setting life goals, personal branding, and competing with empathy and sportsmanship.
Teen Advisory Council
The Teen Advisory Council aims to provide a leadership experience for First Tee – Greater Washington, D.C. participants who are 13 years or older. Through this council, participants will build interactive, engaging, and constructive experiences for the development of the First Tee – Greater Washington, D.C. community, as well as plan and participate in teen social events.
The Council will be open to all registered and active First Tee-Greater Washington D.C. teens, and committees and leadership will be developed based on levels of interest.
Summer STEAM Camp & STEAM Series
During the summer, First Tee-Greater Washington, D.C. offers an exhilarating multi-day adventure at our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Camp, where participants will embark on a journey combining the excitement of golf with the wonders of STEAM exploration!
STEAM Series- In partnership with Amazon Web Services, and other DMV technological supporters, we will continue to offer an after-school STEAM series program that uniquely intersects STEAM, technology, and sports through golf-based learning experiences! Food is often provided!
Participant Volunteer Program – "Fore the Community"
The First Tee Participant Volunteer Program is designed to provide participants (ages 13-18) with meaningful opportunities to engage in community service, contribute to their families and schools, and mentor their peers. This program allows participants to develop leadership skills while fulfilling volunteer hour requirements that support their academic, scholarship, and internship pursuits.
Participants in the volunteer program will:
- Earn volunteer hours that count toward school requirements and First Tee ACE Program requirements.
- Gain valuable experience for college applications, scholarships, and internships.
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and mentorship skills through peer-to-peer mentoring.
- Make a positive impact on their community, school, and First Tee chapter.
Junior Coach Program
Our Junior Coaching Program at First Tee – Greater Washington, D.C. provides participants with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, give back to their community, and gain hands-on coaching experience. This program trains and supports junior participants as they volunteer in classes for younger golfers, serving as mentors and role models while reinforcing the core values and life skills taught at First Tee.
Through this program, junior coaches receive guidance from experienced instructors, learn effective communication and coaching techniques, and build confidence as they assist with lessons and activities. Whether helping with golf fundamentals or encouraging younger participants, junior coaches play a vital role in fostering a positive and welcoming environment.
