First Tee Young Professionals Council

The Young Professionals Council (YPC) of First Tee – Greater Washington, D.C. is a group of emerging leaders dedicated to supporting the mission of First Tee by developing future board members, fostering community engagement, and positively impacting youth through golf. YPC members participate in social events, fundraising efforts, on-course mentorship, and program support while expanding the council’s reach through social media and word-of-mouth advocacy.

What we do:

    • We raise money to support scholarships, program expansion, and life-changing opportunities for youth.

    • From the golf course to the classroom, we help First Tee participants build confidence and life skills.

    • Through outreach, social media, and networking, we’re expanding our impact and welcoming new voices.

    • We equip young professionals with real-world leadership skills and board governance experience.

Social Events Committee

Love planning and connecting? Help us organize happy hours, golf outings, and pop-up service events.

  • Plan and host quarterly events

Mentorship & Program Support

Make a real difference in a young person’s life.

  • Mentor youth through the Beyond the Green program
  • Join casual “Play Days” on the course
  • Volunteer in First Tee classes (no golf experience needed)
  • Participate in career panels or one-off teen events

Scholarship Scramble

Help organize YPC’s signature golf tournament that raises scholarship funds for First Tee participants.

  • Secure sponsors, donors, and raffle prizes
  • Recruit teams and promote the event
  • Assist with day-of logistics: registration, on-course games, post-round reception
  • Celebrate the impact you helped create
