Be a Game Changer. Volunteer with us.

Make a Difference—Become a First Tee Volunteer!

At First Tee – Greater Washington, DC, we’re more than just golf—we’re about building game changers. We help kids discover their strengths, develop confidence, and learn values that will shape their future. But we can’t do it alone.

We need enthusiastic, caring mentors to inspire and support kids and teens from all backgrounds. No golf experience? No problem! We provide training based on research-backed youth development techniques so you’ll have the tools to make every participant feel safe, included, and empowered.

Whether you’re on the course helping kids learn the game or supporting behind the scenes, your time makes a lasting impact. With volunteer opportunities across DC, Northern Virginia, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County, there’s a place for you in our community. Click here to see our Class Schedule.

Volunteer Role

  • Deliver First Tee Program to kids and teens (we’ll provide training!)
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of activities
  • Have fun while sharing the excitement of the game

Time Commitment

  • 2 hours per week for 6 weeks. We offer classes Monday – Saturday in the spring, summer, and fall. Tell us your schedule, and we’ll find a place for you.

Volunteer Requirements

  • The safety of our kids is our top priority. All volunteers are required to complete a background check and Safesport Training before volunteering.

Outreach Volunteers

  • First Tee’s impact goes beyond the golf course. We partner with local youth centers to deliver our program through unique events to kids without access to a golf course.
